This is a fairly lovely picture of a girl in a bed, cleverly taken, its frankly just a nice photo.
Reuters(London) has this week reported that Holiday Inn are to trial “Human Bed Warmers” due to the extreme cold and also to the fact that there is a certain quirkiness to their idea.
If the service is requested a ‘willing’ member of staff will be dressed in an all-in-one sleeper suit made of fleece material and will them promptly lie under the sheets for a as yet unknown length of time. Obviously before the guests arrive.
The required temperature for the beds is to be 20 Degrees Celsius (68 Fahrenheit).
Luckily the ‘warmer’ would be fully dressed with no flesh or hair left on show.
Holiday Inn cannot explain why the bed could not simply be warmed by a hot water bottle or an electric blanket a simple investment and perhaps less weird then their proposed scheme.
“Sleep Expert” Chris Idzikowski:
- “There’s plenty of scientific evidence to show that sleep starts at the beginning of the night when body temperature starts to drop. A warm bed - approximately 20 to 24 Celsius - is a good way to start this process whereas a cold bed would inhibit sleep.”
